Congratulations to Prof. Lucas A. Lane of the International Ph.D. Program in Biomedical Engineering (IPBME), Taipei Medical University, and Prof. Hsin-Lun Lee of the Department of Radiology, School of Medicine, and Division of Radiation Oncology, Taipei Medical University Hospital, on receiving the ImmunoTools FlowISiAM Award 2026.

Their awarded research project is entitled:

“Identification of Monocyte-Derived Biomarkers for Early Detection, Proton Therapy Prognosis, and Treatment Stratification in Childhood Neuroblastoma”

The project focuses on childhood neuroblastoma and will utilize the FlowISiAM (Flow cytometry-based Intracellular Staining in Activated Monocytes or Macrophages) platform to investigate monocyte- and macrophage-derived biomarkers in peripheral blood. The study aims to develop a minimally invasive blood-based biomarker approach for early detection, monitoring treatment response and prognosis during proton therapy, and biological risk stratification of neuroblastoma.

The project brings together Prof. Lane’s expertise in nanomedicine, cancer diagnostics, and tumor-associated macrophage biology and Prof. Lee’s clinical expertise in radiation oncology and proton therapy. The research will also be conducted in collaboration with ImmunoTools GmbH and its partner INVIGATE in Germany to advance the application of FlowISiAM technology in precision medicine for pediatric oncology.

Congratulations again to Prof. Lucas A. Lane and Prof. Hsin-Lun Lee on this achievement!
